By August last year, Accenture, a global business process outsourcing BPO company, opened its technology delivery center in Cebu City in the Philippines. By late last month, Accenture began operations of the Accenture Customer Care BPO service in the Cebu facility.

Looking forward to additional growth in the outsourcing industry, Accenture has enlarged its operations in this central Philippines city of Cebu. The new facility could make room for 500 employees.

The presence of Accenture in the Philippines had become important to the operations of Accenture.

In February, AOL CEO Jeff Bewkers has declared that they are doing separation of AOL's audience business from their access business. AOL used to have 9-10 call centers for performing services for their access business, and it has ultimately occurred that its call center operations in India has been sold to Aegis BPO Services, a part of Essar Group. By the last part of April, the acquisition is hoped to be fully accomplished. The removal of call centers is a part of AOL's careful plan of concentrating on its central operations.

Dagupan City has given opportunities for disabled people. City Mayor Alipio Fernadez Jr. has introduced seven persons with disabilities to be the call center agents in Dagupan City Citizen's Helpline. 

Moreover, three of the PWDs graduated from the Area-1 Vocational Rehabilitation Center (AVRC) of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD). They are Eric Marinas, 29 yrs. Old, orthopedically handicapped afflicted with polio; Cristabel Munoz, 31 years old, socialistic; and Alex Garcia, 28 years old who lost his right leg from an accident. Also, Rhdora Parangat is among the hired PWD who is at present the President of the Dagupan City PWD Association.
