In 2005, global IT distributor Ingram Micro entered into by contract support services to Indian outsourcing giant Infosys. Soon after that, Infosys subcontracted voice-based services to ePLDT by way of call center unit Ventus of ePLDT. Late last year, Ingram Micro took preliminary steps toward Ventus to give call center support services for the customers in the US and Canada of the said global IT distributor leading to the signing of a deal with ePLDT. Ingram Micro, the only global IT distributor with operations in Asia and serving 150 countries, wished to give contract center solutions as portion of its service portfolio and tapped the services of Ventus in a direct manner. With Ingram Micro as the end customer, ePLDT's subcontract with Infosys, in whatever manner, continues untouched. Ventus provide various services and will provide more services such as inbound customer care, inbound technical support, inbound and outbound sales, as well as back office processing. As the only global IT distributor with operations in Asia, Ingram Micro is important in Asia and ePLDT's signing of BPO deal with Ingram Micro was a good maneuver. Via Inquirer.net |
