Northern Africa will be the new home of HP. The company wanted to create tech support centers in Africa. According to Rainer Koch, HP Managing Director, they had found that Africa can have a potential stand to provide all type of services and technical support for customers outside of Africa. Because of the low labor rate, India and Philippines became popular. Both countries have large population of young people so they are used to western culture. In addition, India also has high number of workforce who graduated in a university so they are familiar with the English language.
Singaporeans can also speak in English. The country is well-known because of its strong IT infrastructure and high market share.
But all of these advantages can't be found in Northern Africa. HP will slow down their production. HP will hire at least 1,000 employees by the last quarter of 2010. [via dailytech.com] |
