In an effort to improve the plight of the poor and fight poverty, the Philippine government has pursued negotiations and forged stronger ties with several countries that enhance investment, tourism, transportation and trade. PGMA has inaugurated recently the entry of the Teletech facility at the SM City in Pampanga. And this has provided employment opportunities of local residents in the area and even other job-seekers coming from parts of the country particularly its neighboring provinces. Teletech started its business here in 2003, is one of the biggest process outsourcing (BPO) industry in the country. Up to date, Teletech has already 12 customer management care centers in the country including the newest at Pampanga and now has a workforce of 20, 000 but intends to hire more Filipinos. [via PIA] |
