StarTek Inc., a Call center operator, unveiled its first offshore location formally last Monday in Makati, Philippines. The ceremony was blessed by our President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo. It was September when Denver-based StarTek (NYSE: SRT) suburbs and starts travelling into the 78,000-square-foot space in the Manila. It was patented as the first overseas customer care call center for the 8,000-employee company. In Canada and United States, there were 19 centers operated by StarTek. Most customers are handling technical support and service provisioning for household telecommunications companies. The demand for low-priced services by most of the StarTek clientele led them to add an offshore feature. StarTek is the largest Call center operator in the Philippines. It can hire up to 1,100 people. The center started its operation with 50 managers and agents. The StarTek CEO, Larry Jones said that the company had remarkable response to recruiting efforts to find workforce for the center. [via] |
