Loss of Talents in Davao Call Centers

Hesitancy to expand in call center is the major problem of Davao City. The main reason of this problem is that, many applicants choose to work in either Manila or Cebu because of the higher salary than of in the Davao City. Starting salary for call center work in Davao City ranges from P8,000 - P11,000 a month compared to P15,000 in Manila.

 
IT-BPO Industry to Expand up to $55B by 2020

With the study made by Raja Mitra, World Bank consultant, it is projected that by the year 2020, the information- technology and business - process outsourcing (IT- BPO) sector services industry has the potential to earn $30 billion to $55 billion.

 
The Cyber Corridor

President Arroyo conducted a tour in Cyber Corridor. The place is called Cyber Corridor because the firms in the site are associated with information and communications technology (ICT) and business process outsourcing. The President need to accomplish all human and physical infrastructures for the ICT-BPO segment, this will give more opportunities to young Filipinos. In 2001, the BPO sector started as a virtual non-entity with only 2,000 workers.

 
Magellan Solutions Outsourcing, Mandaluyong

A new call center facility had opened recently at Summit One Tower Building, Shaw Boulevard, Mandaluyong City. It was Magellan Solutions Outsourcing, Inc., one of the Philippines' fastest-growing call centers. The company is committed in serving global small and medium enterprises, entrepreneurs and professionals. The solely inbound call center was established in 2005 starting with only 14 agents. It is presently staffed with 250 employees and constantly increasing. So far, the joint delivery centers provide operational seating of over 500.
