Call centre managers require graduates who can speak in English fluently and who can keep themselves captivated to their headsets. Due to the economic downturn in United States (where the outsourcing industry's revenue came from), only few potential investors are surveying for outsourcing sites. In spite of this condition, US outsourcing major Convergys declared recently some plans for five new customer contact centres in our country which signifies jobs for 7,000 people. Outsourcing consists of call centres and back-office operations which helped the Philippine economy. In 2006, 160,000 people were employed in a US$2 billion (S$3 billion) business. The business anticipates an increase of 10 percent in the global outsourcing market by 2010 in the Philippines. Based from a report, Philippine outsourcing business should not be affected by global crisis. Costs cutting should be executed in developed markets during global recession; this may result to an increase in the business process outsourcing activities. [via] |
