Mandaluyong City Mayor Calls for AIDS Seminar for Call Center Workers |

As part of the intensified campaign against the spread of HIV and AIDS within the city, Mandaluyong City Mayor Benjamin Abalos calls for AIDS seminar and lectures for call center employees. According to the city mayor the said seminars and lectures would be part of the requirements for the issuance of worker’s permit. He also called all the personnel managers to discuss the matter.
The city mayor came up with this action after the result of the voluntarily tests in the people of Mandaluyong City leaded by Dr. Camarines Pecos, City Health Officer head. The result of the tests shows that out of 206 tested in 2010, two were positive with HIV. Meanwhile, five came out positive out of 289 in the tests conducted in 2007 to 2009, where one of these five victims died of AIDS in 2009. The local government of Mandaluyong City, Barangay captains and the Sanggunian ng Kabataan are in full support in the city’s HIV-AIDS campaign. [via mb.com.ph] |
