To be able to offer services to more mobile devices, Interactive Intelligence was presented to provide a tool or wizards for customers which they can use to create customized applications. The Interactive Intelligence will include Short Message Service support to its customer for Interaction Center platform.

This service feature is consists of three possible uses:

  1. The customers can forward information to their clients, such as banks will issue warnings when balances get too low.
  2. The customers can send SMS messages to the business where it will be routed to the suitable agents for a reply. With this means, the travellers can send messages to their travel agents to prompt them about the addresses of their hotels. By the use of a "keyword lookup", the message will be transmitted to the proper agent who can answer back with the needed information.
  3. The customers can create their personal SMS applications. Interactive Intelligence already build- up three applications that will be available before the year ends. The first lets the user employs SMS to change their present status. The second accepts query about the presence of others via SMS. In the third application, users may use SMS to perform conference calls by sending messages to the conferencing system with the date, time, interval and participants. The system will then reserve the conference ports and will send notifications.

As a media type, this technology was licensed by the company so a fee will be collected for support to voice, E-mail and SMS. The company will not declare the price of licensing of one media type. However, the increase from two to unlimited is $350 while the increase from one to two is $375.

By next year, the company is planning to release a software that will automate business procedure contained in its communication platforms. E.g., if there’s a business process with five departments who deal with an insurance claim, the automated process will transmit the important documents to the first person. If they decide to sign off on it, the software will automatically transfer the document to the next person who needs to work on it and so forth. [via]
