In the centre of a recession, U.S. companies struggling to have an income are now planning for alternatives using traditional operations. TMCnet reported that with the aid of outsourcing or offshoring certain parts of the business in most country in the world can offer considerably lower rate of operation.

When companies are concluding to progress their elements in an offshore operation, they often prefer destinations with more money-making infrastructures. Third-world countries often have high rate of job loss and literacy level difficulty needed for a firm economic environment. An area of business that has been more prone to offshoring is the "Contact centre". Some countries such as India and Philippines have offered highly skilled and knowledgeable individuals who can easily speak English and can deliver suitable levels of customer service. At present, Fiji is rising as a probable competitor in the global fight for call center authority.

In 1970, Fiji gained its freedom and started to maintain 93 percent literacy rate. Moreover, its past connections to Britain produced an English-speaking nation. The country also proposes an exceptional telecommunication infrastructure which builds a new contact center zone. The potential of Fiji was investigated by Mindpearl Group.  Extensive research and visits to Fiji was performed by the organization, they had analysed the availability of real estate and labour market. According to Alan Graham, chief commercial officer for Mindpearl Group, they already met the local government sector and telecommunication contributors. The local government is eager to attract project and job opportunity particularly in the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) segment. Fiji is also recommending highly skilled workers. In addition, 80 percent of its residents have completed both primary and secondary education. The high job loss rate means that there is existing and learned workforce at a reasonable cost. A competitive factor of Fiji is its telecommunication structure. The country presents a well-built infrastructure with an underwater cable that connects the Pacific involving New Zealand, Australia and the U.S. west coast. Fiji is being determined to be a feasible choice to the household contact center which offers low expenditure and better operations. [via]
