SYKES Asia Inc. is currently on the process of hiring. Its recruitment process is very unique to get used to the changing market conditions, while at the same time improving the applicant experience. Last January, SYKES started its first Career Hub at One San Miguel Avenue (OSMA) building located in Pasig City. The hub is distinctive because of its style that will give comfort to applicants. The Hub offers numerous amenities that are not typical in recruitment centers. As you enter the main area, you will see the sofas, padded chairs, coffee tables and a reading nook filled with books, magazines, and daily newspapers. The other part of OSMA Career Hub contains desktop computers where applicants can freely surf the Internet while waiting. Also, a wide-screen LCD TVs are provided for viewing. Applicants are being served with a selection of snacks and beverages. The cake being served has the icing which symbolizes the SYKES’ recruitment experience. According to Ruchira Mehrotra Sr., Director for Human Resources,Branding And Communications, the concept behind the Career Hub was born out of their experiences in having staffing offices in a huge majority of their locations. They wanted to be more competent in recruiting people because each site and account has very specific requirements. The uncertainty of waiting can be stressful and it will affect the applicant’s focus. They want their applicants to feel comfortable when applying. They believe that the ease with which they go through the recruitment process will contribute to positive interview results.
SYKES has plans to open other similar facilities in key locations. Presently, the company has 15,000 employees and is still growing. The SYKES OSMA Career Hub recruitment system is now more streamlined and efficient. [via philstar.com] |
