According to a report a few days ago, Dell sold one of its two Phil. contact centres to Teleperformance which is a French outsourcing business. Dell and Teleperformance had established an agreement wherein Teleperformance will now be managing Dell's consumer Technical Support Company in the Philippines which includes the main contact centre located in Pasay City. Peter Ryan, the head of off shoring and outsourcing analysis at Datamonitor said that the acquirement of the company is a good news to all Filipinos. This is a proof that the contact centre outsourcing market and services will be maintained in our country and this also reiterates the significance of offshore delivery for clients in the U.S., Australia and New Zealand.

Moreover, he said that the deal between Dell and Teleperformance will emphasize the certainty that many businesses are expecting ways of trimming costs through contact centre outsourcers. For a few months, contact centre outsourcers, seller, and analysts have been reporting that due to current recession, the business sector is loosen up because many companies had learned to value cost cutting and progress on customer service. One of the tactics of in-house contact centre operators is their manner of eliminating fixed costs by selling assets to third-party vendors. By means of selling their amenities they prevent the depreciation of those assets and at the same time they increase the operational effectiveness that is innate with outsourcing. Teleperformance will provide opportunity to manage more technological support interactions. They will offer high standard service to end-users in a cost effective manner. [via]
