Convergys Corp. was known in its customer care, human resources, and billing services globally. It opened 3 new call centres situated in Cebu, Quezon City, and Laguna. The opening was done last April 1. The said opening created 2,900 careers but 275 Canadian jobs were removed in its call centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba. According to a story in the Winnipeg Free Press, the customer service contract handled by Winnipeg centre was gone.

There are about 1,000 employees in Convergys and one of the 13 companies was functioning in Canada. Last May, the business had stated that they are scheduling to open five new call centres in the country which will hire 16,000 individuals. [via]
