Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) reported that Business process outsourcing (BPO), or call centers and similar businesses, remain the top local job providers. According to DOLE Regional Director Ana Dione, the demand for call center agents or CSR remains high in Baguio and LA Trinidad Benguet with 3,000 to 3,500 workers. Furthermore, she would like to ensure the protection and rights of the agents since their work is not that convenient with regards to time like other professions or works. One of the ways to ensure the protection of agents is the project of DOLE for them to have the shuttle services. This may help them to be secured of their graveyard shift in call center. Investors are the key for the call center industry to be the top ranking employment opportunity. This industry is superior among the demand for accountants and teachers.
