With the economic crisis, only the business process outsourcing (BPO) industry is still offering thousands of jobs. Many applicants are willing to be trained and go into this field. ExcelAsia, the human resource solutions provider is now conducting one month training to 1,500 individuals before they go into BPO. More or less 50% of ExcelAsia's clientelle came from the BPO segment. Rita Trillo-Ugarte the company president said that in the next month business must hurry up for ExcelAsia because their hit rates resulted to the completion of their training programs wherein 80% of the trainees are successfully hired. A range of training programs are offered by ExcelAsia in its sites located in Makati, Alabang, Cebu and Bacolod. At Eastwood City, the building of a site is now in progression. Its operation will start in April or May. ExcelAsia conduct job fairs in all of its sites every Monday. Their goal is to screen possible BPO specialists. This will help their clients to convene their employment wants. If the applicant is not qualifying in the event of his application, he will be sent to the free call center training program. And if he completed the training, he will be recommended for client approval. Based from the survey jointly conducted by the Business Processing Association of the Philippines (BPAP) and Outsource2Philippines, half of the population of their executives and human resource managers see their employee requirements increase by over 15% this year. In a report, BPO executives anticipate the expansion of their employee’s base by 6-10% in 2009. Based from the 5,000-10,000 employee count the maximum growth rate will be posted by BPO companies. And from the employee count, 33% is expected to boost by as much as 11-15% in 2009. Gigi Virata, BPAP research director, said that the planned growth of BPO workers this year can be the outcome of global recession. [via] |
