With a vision to be the most in demand workers in the country this year, BPO industry is set to open 84,000 employment opportunities for Filipino jobseekers. Nicon Fameronag, Department of Labor and Employment- Labor Communications Office (DOLE-LCO), revealed that BPO industry is estimated to open 84,000 jobs for call center agents and medical transcriptionists this year alone. And to help fill these vacancies, Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) has allocated P20 million for free English language communication training for those aspiring to work as call center agents. Aside from being a computer literate and having a good command in English language, call center agents aspirants need also to pass some training in relation to their work. With more than 600,000 workers nationwide, BPO is still expected to rise every year. Meanwhile, concerned government agencies are now strongly working to ensure adequate manpower for the sector.
