Within the next two months, Davao City will be one of the major hubs for the business process outsourcing industry. This was a statement from Eriberto Barriga Jr. of the city’s Information and Communications Technology (ICT Davao). The new BPO company will be hiring 400 call center agents for its 200-seat facility. At present, Davao City is has many BPO companies which includes Sutherland with more than 11,000 regular workers. By 2015 the employment figure of BPO is expected to increase by 35,000. Barriga said that the next BPO firm will be situated in a 8,000-square-meter property which will be considered one of the five large international contact centers. More large BPO companies is expected to enter the city. According to Barigga, the constructive telecommunication and infrastructure systems of the city will feature an additional BPO this March. About 60 chief executive officers of major BPO firms will meet here for their CEO Forum. The discussion is an yearly activity being conducted by heads of top BPO firms.
