According to a spokesman for economic development officials in Germany, a call center in Berlin will be inaugurated in March by Sykes Enterprises Inc., known as the Global business outsource provider. Sykes Enterprises has 51,000 people in Tampa and has 22 call centers located in Germany's Bochum, Pasewalk and Wilhelmshaven. The company owned the former Quelle call center which was closed during Quelle's liquidation. The new call center will be needing more than 500 people, spokesman for Berlin Partner GmbH, Christoph Lang said. According to Rene Gurka, Managing Director of Berlin Partner, the company decided to move to Berlin because of its attractive location for business and it is recognized as the leading location of call centers in Europe with 25,000 employees and more than 240 call centers that includes the popular eBay and Bosch.
