The call center capacity is about 400-seat and they will immediately hire 120 people. The construction of Sunnymede IT Center had begun last March. Chakravarty explained that they have decided to put up the BPO here because of the unique culture in the Philippines’s which greatly attracts the global market. The company representatives were amazed that Filipinos are well-conversant in English which shows the readiness in managing more complex services such as banking and finance, healthcare and media publishing. They also commended the Phil. Government because of the support in the establishment of BPO industries. HCL is registered with the Philippine Economic Zone Authority, this means that the firm will enjoy some incentives such as income tax holiday, duty drawbacks and others.
