Sutherland Global Services was launched in the Philippines in 2005 and its fast expansion continues with 13,000 BPO agents at present. As one of the world's largest BPO companies, the company will continue with its major expansion in the southern part of Metro Manila. The successful BPO firm will invest $50 million to build a BPO-IT campus which will be located in Carmona, Cavite. This campus will be the core server of their clients worldwide. About 8,000 personnel will be needed in this new project. At present Sutherland employs over 30,000 people serving its 35 operations centers in 10 countries such as US, Philippines, India, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Bulgaria, United Kingdom, Canada, Mexico and Colombia. Last Wednesday, the groundbreaking ceremony happened. President Benigno Aquino III was the guest of honor and Sutherland Global Services chair and CEO Dilip Vellodi headed the said event. The President acclaimed the fast progression of the local BPO industry. Our country had surpassed India last year. Pnoy further stated that by 2016, the administration expects $25 billion and 4.5 million jobs from the BPO industries. [via business.inquirer.net] |
