SBMA has plans of having a business process outsourcing (BPO) hub just like the Techno Hub in University of the Philippines-Ayala, QC. SBMA Chairman Roberto Garcia believed that they can now provide BPO services since they have sufficient number of workers who are well-trained in the field of ICT. The former US naval base infrastructure has been developed technically to allow BPO transactions in Zambales area. They expect to employ 20,000 people in five years. In a recent study, the Philippines is now in rank 1 when it comes to BPO services. The Business Processing Association of the Philippines (BPAP) reported that they $11 billion and employed 640,000 people last year. With the vision of having a BPO hub in Zambales, BPAP anticipates $25 billion profit and 1.3 million jobs by 2016. |
